The Mercurial

In astrology, Mercurial is the name for someone born under the influence of Mercury, and so goes this unique build from Rising Sun Workshop. Inspiration came from the bikes size and stature, fusing the look of retro BMX bikes with a paired back, raw aesthetic.

The Mercurial was commissioned as part of Throttleroll 2015, with Sol Invictus one of the major sponsors of the event.

An instant visual departure from a stock Mercury comes via the striking chrome Honda Monkey tank and the wrapped custom Dime City exhaust. The rear frame has been cut down around 10 inches, with a custom hoop bent to accommodate the Yamaha SR400 flat tracker seat. Also from an SR400 is the battery battery box housing an Anti Gravity lithium iode battery.

The elevatef ride height is achieved via MX bars with chrome bar end mirrors, while the front aluminium number plate houses the unique front headlight. Adjustable CNC levers continue the raw colour scheme.

From the rear the Radianz LED tail light brings a modern touch matched by the Ace Well moto speedo / tacho.

The lettering on the tank and front number plate put the finishing touches on the bike, and were hand painted by Bondi's DeCreate Design. Wondering about the 'LXXX' reference is? LXXX is the roman numeral for 80 - Mercury being the 80th element on the periodic table of elements.
