On the Road with Beast Feast
// By Sol Invictus
Well we've just arrived back from a week on the road with Beast Feast, and wow, what a week!
Probably the most common question we encountered from locals as we rolled into each town was 'Who and what is Beast Feast?'. A travelling circus? A food festival? A travelling collection of miscreants? Well, basically all of the above. And they can be forgiven for the confusion. Beast Feast was an ambitious undertaking and something that hadn't been done before - get a bunch of like minded businesses together with the common theme of creating a feast for the senses for rural towns who miss out on some of the things that make city living so exciting.
So, lead by the Bearded Bakers of Knafeh, ourselves, The Stables, Happy as Larry, Young Henry's and Sensory Creative hit the road from Sydney to Melbourne setting up shop at Moruya, Yass, Gundagai and Albury, with the launch of Knafeh in Melbourne wrapping up the tour.
Setting up a Sol pop-up store at each town, we were warmly greeted by locals, with a lot of interest in the Mercury, especially Carl's Shinko Trailmaster tyre setup which allows road and trail use, something there is a lot of in rural Australia.
So in conclusion, a big thank you to NRMA for coming on board, The Stables for organising Beast Feast, the people of Moruya, Yass, Gundagai and Albury who put up with us rolling through their towns and our awesome travelling partners Knafeh, Young Henry's, Happy as Larry and Sensory.
