Transformer: W650 Street Tracker
// By Sol Invictus
When you build custom motorcycles you get to meet all sorts of people. Like the owner of this Kawasaki W650. This guy's a stunt man. Yep, can't get any cooler than that! So we knew we had a job on our hands.He want the bike transformed from a cafe racer to a tracker, some of the work was done by the boy at Deus in Camperdown, but he wanted to finesse the style and add more detail.
We started by cutting and cleaning up the subframe to suit the tracker lines. Then we removed the passenger pegs and made a custom seat pan for the tracker style seat we were having upholstered in black Alcantara.Ventura flat track handlebars were fitted and Motogadget M-blase bar end indicators used to keep the profile clean. Purpose Built rear indicators, a flush mounted Shinyo mini taillight and a custom fabricated numberplate holder tidied up the rear.
We also rebuilt the rear sets and change them to upright pegs for the new riding position.
A new front lighting system with all new wiring was installed as well as new brackets. The old tacho was removed and we relocated the speedo. The front triple clamps were swapped back to stock, the airbox removed and replaced with pods and the correct jetting done.
The front mask with LED headlight was custom built with the white 8 decal on front giving it that true flat tracker look. The rear shocks were replace with YSS for a better stance and the wheels wrapped in Dunlop K180 flat track tyres.
The end result is a bike that is detailed, refined and very cool, just like its owner!
